About KJ Bradford

A chef at heart. A host by instinct.

I’m KJ Bradford, a hospitality and food and beverage lifestyle concierge. For me, it’s always been about the food—and the people around it.

From Beaumont to the table

There’s always room for one more.

I started my culinary journey at 15, selling jams, jellies and quick breads at the local farmers market in Beaumont, Texas. With treasured recipes handed down to me and a few of my own, I started my pastry company.

For me, it’s always been about the food: the stories, the memories and the feelings it brings back. I wrote my first cookbook because I wanted to teach people how to cook. I’ve held many roles in the industry, but one thing I’ve learned is that making room for everyone at the table is the most satisfying thing at the end of the day.

From my early days doing dessert and wine pairings at restaurants across Southeast Texas to my monthly Sunday suppers, it’s always been about that sense of community.

I’m a certified chef and certified nutrition coach with 22 years of culinary experience, including 10 years as a private chef. I’m a certified food protection manager, hold a food handler license and have CBRF certification. I bring a wine-savvy host’s eye to pairing advice.

Why I cook

If I bring one smile with a plate, then I’ve done my duty. If I change one person’s mind about food, then I’ve done my duty. If I inspire one little Black boy or girl to be a chef, then I’ve done my duty.

I’m a chef, I’m a culinarian, but most of all I’m just a boy from the bayou creating memories one plate at a time. Making sure I always have a seat at the table for anyone who decides to sit and break bread.
